KleyCity is an art project of mine that aims to connect culturall and historical ideas
and aspects of different countries worldwide. The project consists of a fast
expanding collection of tower-shaped sculptures, so far erected in 18 countries
(Germany, Italy, Egypt, France, Tchech Republic, Brazil, Turkey, Japan,
Portugal, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, Spain, Norway, the United States,
South Korea, Albania, Syria, Cyprus)
I chose the tower as an universal icon, that is understood by any
society and race. Towers were constructed for purpose of defense, divine
worship, representation of power and as landmarks. Examples are numerous: the
tower of Babylon and Pisa, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the World Trade Center in
New York. In many ways I suppose all the towers can be viewed as an archetypal
desire to get closer to divinity and to partake in progress.
Each new requested tower
sculpture in any part of the world becomes automatically part of KleyCity.
Following extensive studies on past and present development of local land and
people, each tower is shaped to reflect a particular part in the evolution of
urban civilisation. It is my ambition to invite you into KleyCity as a global
network of towers conserving the dreams and ideas of ancient and modern society,
no matter where in the world. Everybody is
